2)
Intelligent battery monitoring

Automatic shutdown of the control

3)
Freely programmable start mode

You decide on the sound when starting the vehicle

Functionality

Control of electric or pneumatic exhaust flaps

No matter what type of exhaust flaps you have retrofitted to your vehicle, the control unit KN1 can be switched to the corresponding flap drive at any time via a switch.
Supported are vacuum switching valves from Pierburg, electric actuators from Küster (Audi, VW, Mercedes, etc.) and from SBS (BMW from 2012, Audi and Mercedes from around 2016).
One or two electric actuators can be controlled in parallel, depending on how many exhaust flaps have been retrofitted.

Intelligent battery monitoring

The control unit KN1 can be connected directly to the battery terminals. Thanks to intelligent battery monitoring, the device automatically registers whether the engine is on or off and disconnects all connected consumers when the vehicle is parked. No searching for a suitable ignition signal and no dead battery even after prolonged downtime!
If you want to connect the control unit to the ignition plus of your vehicle, the battery monitoring can also be turned off at any time via a switch on the device.

Control via button or switch

The control unit can also be operated at will using a button or switch. With the press of a button, the flaps can be easily opened or closed.

When using a button or switch with feedback LED, it can be controlled via the control unit:

  • Flaps open: LED on
  • Flaps closed: LED off

This way, in addition to the acoustics, you always have a visual way to determine the position of the exhaust flaps. The LED feedback can also be inverted!

Start mode

The start mode describes the behavior of the control after the vehicle starts (The start-stop system of your vehicle is not counted as a vehicle start). The following modes can be set as the start mode, influencing the flap position at vehicle start:

  • Last state (default): The position of the exhaust flaps is saved when the vehicle is turned off and restored at vehicle start.
  • Sport mode: Exhaust flaps always open at vehicle start
  • Comfort mode: Exhaust flaps always closed at vehicle start

The start mode can be changed at will using the remote control.

Inverting the control

With different exhaust flaps (pressureless closed or pressureless open), it may happen that the flap position does not match the selected flap position (button press on the remote control or feedback signal from the LED). If the exhaust flaps close when you wanted to open them, the control signal can be inverted via a switch on the control unit. This way, the position of the exhaust flaps always corresponds to your desired setting.
